About Dru Nadler Photography

Dru Nadler studied photography at the School of Visual Arts in New York. She worked as a staff photographer on newspapers in Fairfield County where she won regional and national awards. After the birth of her daughter she freelanced as a photojournalist and started her own business doing event, portrait and commercial photography.

In 1993, she received a grant with teacher and author Deborah Hare to fund a social documentary project which resulted in the publication of the book, "Homeboys: Portraits of Young Men Growing Up in New Haven.” She has photographed for non-profit organizations, including the international relief agency AmeriCares, covering the aftermath of tornadoes in Oklahoma. In 2015 she worked as a volunteer and photographer at Glorious School in Arusha, Tanzania, where her pictures were used to help raise awareness and funding for the school.

For the past two years she has been exploring the challenges and possibilities of shooting with her iPhone.
